Date: Sunday, June 11, 2017
Time: 09:00 to 12:00
Location: Blönduskóli Room 10
Class Level: Advanced beginner
Teacher: Guðrún Hannele Henttinen
Class Details: Shawl knitting offers endless possibilities. In this workshop you will design you own crescent shawl. The shawl will be shaped like a winged half circle when it is finished. You will get a basic pattern to follow and add you own ideas of colours and patterns. The goal is to learn to knit a crescent shawl and be able to finish it at home.
What to Bring: Bring fingering weight yarn or sport weight if you like, but enough to finish a shawl. You can use any yarn you like for a shawl but do not bring too fine yarn or dark colours. Sock yarn, about 400m in 100g is good and should be enough for a small shawl. Bring 600-800m to make a bigger shawl. I would be interesting to use two or more colours as well. Bring circular lace needles, 80-100 cm long that are suitable for the yarn (3,5 – 5mm). Bring a few stitch markers. You can also purchase yarn and needles from the teacher.
