Date: Saturday, June 10, 2017
Time: 14:00 to 17:00
Location: Blönduskóli Room 10
Class Level: Beginners in shawl knitting, advanced beginner
Teacher: Guðrún Hannele Henttinen
Class Details: Shawls do not have to be difficult to knit. Here you will learn to start from the top in an easy way, or if you like with a garter tab and explore ways to design your own triangle shawl and other shapes, each made from the top down.
What to Bring: Bring fingering weight yarn or sport weight if you like, but enough to finish a shawl. You can use any yarn you like for a shawl but do not bring too fine yarn or dark colours. Sock yarn, about 400m in 100g is good and should be enough for a small triangle shawl. If you like bigger shawls bring more yarn. Bring circular lace needles, 80 cm long that are suitable for the yarn (3,5 – 5 mm). Bring a few stitch markers. You can also purchase yarn and needles from the teacher.
